Weathering the Anthropocene
ABOUT MORFYDD

I am a multi disciplinary artist who graduated with Distinction from the MA in Art and Science at Central Saint Martins, London. My research focuses on the Anthropocene. This investigation results in a practice which interrogates climate and weather, capturing the interaction between the natural world and human intervention.

The continuous cycle of the seasons and dynamics of climate and weather assert their own pressures. These variables impact upon our own lives; we remain at the mercy of climatic events. I monitor the cycle and rhythm of the seasons and through this continuous recording and researching I interrogate the uncertainty of these influences and their effect upon the landscape.

The choice of materials used and their geographical relationship to the work is an integral part of my practice. Careful consideration is given to any environmental impact that the making of the work could have both now and in the future.

I am founder member of ‘tenthirtyart’, a group of women artists who exhibit in London.

I work from my studio in based on Sussex and on site.
